The 2016 Korea Energy Exhibition ended with two fruits: revitalizing exports and spreading new energy industry performance. This year's Energy Exhibition featured the latest products and technologies of domestic and foreign companies in all energy fields, including new and renewable energy and energy efficiency, starting with the energy industry. 274 domestic and foreign companies, up dozens from the previous year, participated in the exhibition with 1,109 booths to promote products and technologies, and achieved business results such as export contracts and business agreements. It highlights the four-day fruits of the energy war, which has established itself as a buyer-centered, B2B exhibition for business.

¡ÞSupport for overseas business opens the way for small and medium-sized enterprises to export

The energy competition has become a major stage for achieving overseas business performance for small and medium-sized companies in Korea. During the four-day event, participating companies achieved eight overseas export contracts worth KRW 36.5 billion and signed eight business agreements worth a total of KRW 17.1 billion. Export consultations between participating companies and buyers also reached about KRW 300 billion.

Ani Homes, a home electric power-saving device company, signed a total of 10 billion won contracts on site, including 2.5 billion won each with Japan's Cool Energy and Australia's JK Entertainment and 5 billion won with Guatemala's Ani Homes local subsidiary. Isol Tech, which produces energy-independent module houses, signed an export agreement worth about 4.1 billion won with CHG Group in Malaysia, and HexPower System signed an export agreement worth 9.4 billion won with the Indonesian Litung Island Development Corporation.

This achievement is due to the Korea Energy Corporation's "customized buyer matching service" about a year before the exhibition, such as finding overseas buyers that companies want through interviews with participating companies and inviting them to the exhibition to arrange transaction meetings.

Domestic companies and overseas buyers who participated in the 2016 Korea Energy Fair held export consultations at the business consultation center in the exhibition hall.

The Korea Energy Agency invited more than 100 large-scale overseas buyers from 20 countries, more than twice the size of the previous year, to arrange an active business consultation matching service with Korean companies. During the exhibition, overseas buyers who can sign contracts or business agreements were directly supported with invitation costs such as flight tickets and accommodation, and provided interpretation and contract process review services.

By actively resolving difficulties of companies that are struggling to advance overseas due to language constraints and lack of overseas networks, the company has fully supported companies to achieve substantial export results. In addition, through business cooperation with global exhibition company K-Fairz, the company has expanded its special hall for foreign companies to 66 booths, 32 companies in 12 countries more than doubled last year, making the energy exhibition leap into a global exhibition in name and reality.

¡ÞSupport for small and medium-sized enterprises through cooperation with related organizations

The Korea Energy Corporation has strengthened cooperation with related organizations such as local governments and energy-related associations in the energy competition to fully support small and medium-sized companies with excellent technology and products to develop their markets. The number of "special halls for local governments" worth 58 booths in five local governments in the previous year was nearly tripled to 141 booths in eight local governments, including Gyeonggi Province, South Jeolla Province and South Gyeongsang Province, this year. Through this, local small and medium-sized companies with difficulties in marketing and market development were supported to be intensively promoted to domestic and foreign buyers.

The LED Special Hall was formed through new cooperation with the Korea Institute of Machinery and Electrical Electronics Test (KTC). Various lighting products from excellent LED certification companies were exhibited at the exhibition hall, and overseas buyers such as Southeast Asia showed great interest in purchasing them.

In addition, in cooperation with the Korea Association for the Promotion of Industrial Technology (KOITA), the Korea New Product Certification Association (KNeP), the Korea Institute for the Promotion of Industrial Technology (KIAT), and the Korea Frozen Air-conditioning Association (REF), special halls were formed in areas such as NET, NEP, and cooling and heating cooperation to maximize synergy of cooperation by expanding and displaying professional products in related fields with excellent companies that have obtained various certifications.

Through cooperation with 'Design Korea' held simultaneously at KINTEX, the exhibition was developed to the next level for visitors interested in the energy and design fields through the opening of passages between exhibition halls, joint promotion of online and offline, and joint operation of shuttle buses.

¡ÞSatisfying participating companies in omnidirectional marketing support and preparing a venue for the latest information and technology exchange

Even before the exhibition was held, it supported small and medium-sized companies that had difficulty in marketing activities such as promoting participating companies through the 30,000 Jinseong Buyer Database (DB) owned by the Korea Energy Agency, supporting corporate video advertisement production and transmission costs, distributing newsletters, and promoting companies through online supporters.

During the exhibition, 10 foreign journalists from 10 foreign countries, including the United Kingdom, Algeria, and Ecuador, as well as major domestic media, were invited to help highlight outstanding small and medium-sized enterprises and products at home and abroad.

In order to improve the accessibility of participating companies and visitors to KINTEX, shuttle buses were operated on six routes, including Gangnam, Gangbuk, Suwon, and Seongnam in Seoul during the exhibition period, and it has established its status as a representative exhibition in the energy sector and an exhibition satisfying for participating companies by supporting companies in the best environment such as free support for places and auxiliary facilities and distribution of invitations when holding corporate technology seminars.

Major government policies, latest information, and technologies in the energy sector, such as new energy industries and renewable energy, were actively exchanged through side events such as 50 specialized seminars held during the energy war. Among them, visitors gathered at the Korea Energy Foundation's "WEC International Energy Symposium," where domestic and foreign experts presented and discussed energy industry development strategies in response to the new climate system, and the Energy Corporation's "Zero Energy Building Convergence Alliance Forum," which discusses convergence technologies, policies, and financial models between companies to promote the supply of zero-energy buildings.
