[Shisa Magazine/Gwangju Jeonnam] Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Sam-ho) said, "On the 23rd, the Ministry of Public Administration and Security won the Excellence Award in resolving corporate difficulties in the "2020 Local Regulatory Innovation Best Practices Competition" as an automated screening clinic created through community collaboration and secured 50 million won in state funds.".

The automated screening clinic in Gwangsan-gu is a new concept of quarantine facility designed to completely separate the space between suspected infections and inspectors and automate the process of collecting COVID-19 virus samples to safely test them without protective clothing.

This screening clinic was created by Isol Tech, a module house manufacturer in Gwangsan-gu. Earlier this year, Song Jong-woon, CEO of E-Soltec, decided to overcome difficulties with the production of a new screening clinic that introduced his company's air control technology.

Gwangsan-gu District helped CEO Song, who started production in earnest. It shared its experience and know-how in operating a screening clinic so that it could be reflected in the production of a new screening clinic, and arranged to add R&D and experiments by Gwangju Techno Park and the Electronic Components Research Institute. In addition, materials and parts of 11 small and medium-sized enterprises in Gwangju were combined to create an automated screening clinic.

Furthermore, Gwangsan-gu first purchased and used automated screening clinics and promoted them to local governments across the country. As a result, automated screening clinics showed interest in the Chinese media as well as national interest.

"The automated screening clinic is an example of K-quarantine created by local communities through collaboration, and the government selected it as an excellent case to confirm this," said Kim Sam-ho, head of Gwangsan-gu District Office. "Mwangsan-gu District will continue its reputation as a good city for businesses that support securing corporate competitiveness beyond resolving corporate difficulties.".
