[Korea Economy = Reporter Kim Min-soo] "The hardest work when constructing the modular house was securing 'confidential'. No matter how much the factory wrapped all the module boxes, if you look closely, there was interference inside and outside, and the parts that needed to be cut out for site installation naturally occurred, so we had to do confidential work again at the site."

This is the words of an employee of a construction company who recently participated in the construction of a modular house.

Modular construction technology refers to pre-manufacturing more than 70% of construction members, including structures, at factories and then installing them at construction sites and finishing them inside and outside. Unlike traditional concrete pouring methods, it has advantages such as shortening air, preventing safety accidents, and reducing construction waste and carbon emissions. However, insulation, airtightness, and waterproofing through structural bonding are permanent homework of modular technology.

Founded in 2012, E-Soltec (CEO Song Jong-woon) succeeded in producing modular buildings with the highest energy efficiency rating as well as excellent confidentiality. Song Jong-woon, CEO of E-Soltec, has been focusing on research and development by sticking to only energy-saving houses since its foundation, and as a result, he has modular production technology with such excellent confidential performance.

CEO Song said, "E-Soltec modular architecture is a company with structural strength and both modular construction and energy efficiency, which are the top technologies in architecture," adding, "It is hard to find a company that has both of these advantages not only in Korea but also abroad.".

E-Soltec has world-class technology in structural safety, energy efficiency, and module packing combination. In particular, unlike conventional concrete, steel-frame modulators generate heat through steel materials, but instead of connecting only steel plates like conventional containers, they blocked internal and external heat bridges by assembling 30-90cm-wide panels stacked with six types of insulation with bolts.

In addition, the panel allows air to breathe out and breathe out, enabling the panel to use only 0.12 kilowatts of electricity per hour in summer and 0.34 kW in winter, which is highly energy efficient. Its modular architecture received the highest certification grade of "1+++" for zero-energy buildings. The fact that it has zero-energy confidentiality demonstrates the superiority of module bonding technology.

E-Soltec has developed a "modular medical chamber" equipped with information medical technology (IMT) functions such as air supply and exhaust selection separation ventilation and an air conditioning integrated built-in system in this high-efficiency and high-precision modular technology. This medical chamber confirmed that droplets (virus) generated from patients in the gum collection room (pollution area) were effectively discharged and proper borrowing was maintained, and thus no cross-contamination occurred between the gum collection room and the medical staff's laboratory. E-Soltec will unveil the medical chamber at the "Korea Build" to be held at KINTEX in Ilsan from the 16th to the 19th.

In addition, E-Soltec participated in R&D projects of government ministries such as the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and the Korea Institute for Construction and Living Environment Test (KCL). It also won the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Award for its internal pressure chamber at a screening clinic with energy efficiency, the award for innovative R&D, and the Gwangju Metropolitan Government Award for Encouraging New Technologies for Disaster Safety.

E-Soltec aims to be a multi-purpose expandable modular building. "We aim to be a multi-purpose expandable modular building that can be used as a general house in normal times and then repurposed as a differential pressure modulator in case of a crisis such as Corona," CEO Song said. "The variable connector can be used as a medical facility even if it is scattered from other regions.".

E-Soltec is a company with 10 employees, but it achieved 200% sales growth last year after the first outbreak of COVID-19. This year, it plans to focus on government ministries and local government projects in Korea, and start housing projects overseas. It currently has its headquarters in Korea and offices in Australia and New Zealand. It is the first in Korea to receive modular construction in New Zealand.
