A total of 36 companies from the Gwangju region will participate in the world's largest IT and electronics exhibition, 'CES 2025,' to showcase their outstanding technological capabilities.

The Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that 36 technology companies from the Gwangju region will participate in 'CES 2025,' the world's largest consumer electronics and IT exhibition, which opens on January 7 (local time) in Las Vegas, USA. The city plans to hold an opening ceremony for the 'CES 2025' Gwangju Joint Pavilion both online and offline at the event venue.

These companies will showcase outstanding technological products at the Gwangju Joint Pavilion operated by Gwangju City and the Gwangju Pavilion within KOTRA's Integrated Korea Pavilion.

The city previously held a public call in July last year to recruit companies for participation in the 'CES 2025' Gwangju Promotion Hall and selected 15 companies.

A total of 11 companies, including Inbiz, Junction Med, Twigfarm, E-Soltec, Artlab, IndieDJ, Hogreen Air, River Tree, UniCompany, EcoPeace, and Blue Capsule, will participate in the Gwangju Joint Pavilion. Additionally, four companies—Onion AI, All The Time, Sagak, and Merry Hand—will showcase their products at the Gwangju Pavilion within KOTRA's Integrated Korea Pavilion.

These companies are primarily technology firms based on artificial intelligence (AI). Inbiz will showcase its medical imaging information system and AI-powered cardiac ultrasound automation solution, 'AI Echo Care'. EcoPeace will exhibit its multifunctional product, the 'Healing Boat,' which combines water leisure activities with water purification capabilities. E-Soltec plans to present its 'Multipurpose Modular Chamber,' which incorporates energy-saving and IT technologies.

The city began its participation in 'CES 2023' with Mayor Kang Gi-jung personally leading local companies. Last year, at 'CES 2024,' the city simultaneously operated two pavilions: the Gwangju Joint Pavilion and the Gwangju Pavilion within the Integrated Korea Pavilion. This year, at 'CES 2025,' the scope has been expanded to include the AI and cultural industries, with 15 companies showcasing their global technological capabilities.

In addition to the 15 companies selected by the city, 21 local companies are also participating in this year's 'CES 2025.' Supported by KOTRA, Young&, Didat Care, Lara Labs, and RXO have secured spots in the Integrated Korea Pavilion.

Samsung C-LAB-supported companies GhostPass and MindSpace are also participating in CES. Notably, GhostPass has won the Best Innovation Award at this year's CES for its groundbreaking technology, while MindSpace has received an Innovation Award, showcasing their technological excellence.

Chonnam National University is leading five companies—AutoWells, L&H Labs, GreenTalk, MEMS, and ShareFlat—to participate in 'CES 2025.'

Three companies, including SOS Lab, which was listed on the KOSDAQ market last year, are participating individually in CES 2025. Additionally, seven companies supported by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, the Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Innovation Platform, and the Information and Communication Planning and Evaluation Institute are also competing with global companies at CES 2025, showcasing their technological capabilities.

The city is actively supporting overseas market entry by strengthening global expansion programs, including assistance with CES Innovation Award applications. As a result, GhostPass became the first company from Gwangju to win the CES 2025 Best Innovation Award, while four other companies—EcoPeace, SOS Lab, E-Soltec, and Inbiz—received CES 2025 Innovation Awards.

The city sees this as an opportunity to showcase the technological capabilities of excellent local companies to the global market, gauge international responses, and allow the companies to validate their own competencies.

Joo Jae-hee, Director of the City¡¯s Economic and Startup Bureau, stated, ¡°We are supporting the participating companies in CES 2025 to showcase their excellent technological capabilities and lay the groundwork for successful foreign investment attraction,¡± adding, ¡°We will continue to do our best to enhance the startup success rate of local companies.¡±
